Family Class Immigration
This visa program is for individuals who intend to immigrate to Canada on obtaining a sponsorship from their close relative who is either a Canadian citizen or a Canadian permanent resident.
In order to get qualified under Canada Family Class Sponsorship:
The relationship between the Sponsor and the Sponsored Person (the applicant under the Family Class Immigrant) must be one of the following:
- Spouse, common-law partner, or conjugal partner; or
- Parent or grandparent; or
- Dependent child; or
- Orphaned, unmarried, and under 18 years of age brother, sister, nephew, niece, or grandchild; or
- Intended adopted child under 18 years of age; or
- Other relative, if the Sponsor has no relative listed above and no relatives who are Canadian citizens or
- Canadian permanent residents (limited to one relative only).
The Sponsored Person must have a Sponsor who:
- Is a Canadian citizen or a Canadian permanent resident; and
- Meets the family class sponsorship requirements.
Family Sponsorship processing time vary from one Canadian Immigration Visa office to another:
Spouses and Partners Visa
The current processing time for migration to Canada on a spouse and partner visa is 2 - 8 months, from the start of the process.
Dependant Children Visa
The current processing time for migration to Canada on a dependent children visa is 2 - 6 months, from the start of the process.
Parents and Grandparents Visa
The current processing time for migration to Canada on a Parents and Grandparents visa is 12 - 18 months, from the start of the process.
For other family members
The current processing time for migration to Canada on a Parents and Grandparents visa is more than 12 months, from the start of the process.
Family Sponsorship processing fees also vary from one Canadian Immigration Visa office to another. Kindly verify the appropriate processing fee with GICS before obtaining.
The Sponsor and Sponsored Person(s) must follow the appropriate Canada Family Class Immigration application process.
